It's Electric

I have a problem.  My beloved Teddy's Tack Truck Brushes cause a huge static problem.  Grooming is no fun when both you and your horse are going "DON'T SHOCK ME!"  So far I have tried dryer sheets, a spray bottle with water, and the combination.  It is still hit or miss on the shocking.  Which is really bad because Stinker gets fidgety and nervous because he is anticipating getting shocked.

Plz make it stop

Does anyone have magical tips?  I didn't have this problem in the south with the high humidity, but the lack of humidity here has everything electrified.

  1. No tips (because it's humid AF here) -- maybe SB will have some suggestions?

  2. Uh your horse is electric. Really don't know. I had the same problem with him and I don't have it with mine. In the four years I had C, I think I shocked him once.

  3. Have you tried emailing Toi to see if she has any advice? She is the master, after all (I bow to her).

    1. I did and she was like huh I haven't heard of the water and dryer sheets not working. Leave it to us to be weird 😂

    2. Maybe a coat conditioning spray would help?

  4. My thought would be either dousing the brush in conditioner or getting one of those anti-static wristbands people buy to work on computer innards...

  5. Aw that's so frustrating! I had to stop using my fleece cooler on Izzy bc it always zapped the bejesus out of her :(

  6. I spray the horses down with some Microtek in the winter before brushing and that seems to help. Good luck!
